“The Afs India Community service trip 2019 was an enriching experience. My host family was super welcoming and they made me feel at home. The whole experience of teaching the 9th and 10th graders at Vikram Sarabhai Secondary school in Palaj was about learning and challenges. The kids had a real zeal to learn and do well in life. Apart from the Math and Science lessons from their curriculum, we taught them email writing, basic computer applications, math tricks, personal hygiene, and self-development.

We received good support from the local school staff as well. The kids gradually started appreciating the efforts put in by the volunteers. They became more and more interactive with each passing day. The evening outings at the end of a tiring day were fun as well! I got to know volunteers from other chapters and become friends with them. To sum it up, the community service trip was a very satisfying and learning experience filled with love and joy. I hope to keep in touch with those kids via emails. Thank you AFS India and everyone who was involved for such an amazing opportunity.”
