Angela Roye


Educationist, Environmentalist, Founder-Principal of Angela Roye’s Child Development Center, Bangalore (established in 1997), An AFS Returnee from batch of 1966-67), Former banker who served in a large nationalised bank at various senior managerial positions. Dave Banerjee

Dave has been in the advertising and marketing industry for over 30 years. He started his career with J. Walter Thompson in Calcutta and later moved to Ogilvy and Lowe in Bangalore. In 1997 he moved to New York and started two agencies Banerjee & Partners and 1947 Communications. Jayant Krishna

Jayant Krishna is ED & COO, National Skill Development Corporation. Most of Jayant’s experience of 30 years was with Tata Group with key positions at Tata Consultancy Services, including Director – Life Sciences & Healthcare (Europe); Regional Director (UK); RM (London); DCH; and Global Relationship Manager. Joseph Kuok

Alumni of St. Stephen’s College, Post Graduate in Business Economics from Delhi University, Winner of Bronze Medal in the 1982 IXth. Asian Games held at New Delhi in Waterpolo. Father of AFS Alumni.


Jayant Hari Har Lal

Jayant Hari Har Lal, a product of The Doon School and of the IIT at Kanpur started his career as a Marketing Engineer and moved on to being an entrepreneur. He set up a very successful engineering unit at Dehra Dun and gradually moved towards his passion – teaching. After 7 years of voluntary teaching at his alma mater – The Doon School, he became a full time faculty member there teaching Maths and Physics. He has been a Housemaster and Deputy Headmaster at The Doon School and then was Founder Principal of the Sanskaar Valley School in Bhopal. He hung up his boots as Director Development at The Doon School in 2011 and is now engaged as an Education Consultant. Click HERE to read more.


John Mota

John is a YES Alumni of 2013-14 batch. He describes his YES Program as a life changing experience for facilitating more opportunities, enduring bonds and making me more responsible as a Global Citizen. On selection to represent alumni on board, John says, “I am confident enough to accept this responsibility to represent our alumni base and work efficiently to see a significant increase in the number of active alumni in every chapter.”


Mandeep Kaur

Mandeep is the All-India Principal Program Advisor in the Public Affairs Section of the U.S. Embassy in New Delhi, where she has served since July 1994.  She was instrumental in setting up the U.S. State Department’s, “Youth Exchange and Study(YES) Program,” in India in 2005 in collaboration with AFS-USA.  Click HERE to read more.


Ranjana Iyer

Ranjana Iyer is a practicing lawyer and has over three decades of experience and expertise as a senior litigator and has handled a vast variety of commercial disputes. She  has appeared before courts and tribunals in matters relating to intellectual property laws, immigration laws and arbitrations  and has also  worked as a legal advisor to   group of companies in Muscat, Sultanate of Oman. Ravi Pandit

A meritorious Chartered Accountant and Chartered Company Secretary, Ravi Pandit, has donned leadership roles across the Management spectrum in his distinguished career spanning over 3 decades. He gained useful experience about the industry and business practices while overseeing the Accounting and Finance functions in large Indian conglomerates, such as, the Tatas, Bajaj, Essar, Walchand and Global Group. At AFS,  I plan, develop and direct marketing efforts for AFS India with development of strategies & methodologies for the growth of volunteers & AFS. Background in Journalism with subsequent degree in Conflict Analysis & Peace-Building. My journey with AFS began as a volunteer with Delhi Chapter in 2015. I have been volunteering with AFS India in various capacities- counselor, trainer, community service coordinator, FRRO support and so much more. As a professional, I am a mental health professional, trainer and an internationally trained psychotherapist from California and Netherlands having worked with various organisations ranging from United Nations to Department of Psychiatry AIIMS, Times of India NIE, etc with an experience of working with 45+ schools across Delhi NCR through workshops and trainings. Joining as a Training and Development Coordinator as an AFS India staff in 2019, I am excited to explore what the world of Intercultural Learning holds for me!

Before AFS I have a diverse work experience for over 25 years across various schools, NGO, hospitals, businesses and export houses. My father is my inspiration. He was motivational writer & speaker and has taught me from beginning to be always positive and he gave me a thought that work is worship. I became the National Director since 2009 and lead the team at the AFS National Office in India. I have the motto “buck stops here” – that covers everything.

I joined AFS in 2016 and have been working with the Volunteer Development Department since then. Being directly involved with volunteers from PAN India helps me widen my horizons. Coming from the Sociology background, AFS is the kind of organisation I have always wanted to work with. Diving into the cultural world and imbibing great learning from each has been my life goal from the very beginning. My subjects Psychology and Sociology have helped me or I would say directed me dive in the right way. AFS being my first organisation has a huge role to play in moulding my professional path. Working with an Educational Organisation simply means new learning each day. Learning has no limits or ends. I look forward to challenges that would help me in my professional growth and encounters that make me a better person.

Manjit Sandhu

My educational and professional background has allowed me to explore my ability to be a change maker by inspiring, mentoring, and collaborating with other people at various levels. By working at grassroots, with multicultural refugees and Multinational communities, both at United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees project (UNHCR)  and later at AFS since 2007; it has not only given me knowledge and understanding towards  different cultural and community perspectives. But I have also developed the sensitivity, patience, and skills needed for participation in our multicultural society. I have done Bachelors in Sociology (Hons) and Master’s degree in Social work from Delhi University. I continue to enjoy my association with AFS over more than a decade now!

In due course of time, I also got an opportunity to be an integral part of YES department.  In my current job role, I am working with Hosting Department as one of the team members. In addition, I am also an interim ICL Support taking care of the ICL trainings and related task. My engagement with AFS has not only helped in building self-confidence but has also provided a platform to grow and learn something new every day. In spite of challenges, working with different departments have widened my horizon and given me an opportunity to enhance my skills. Besides work, I like travelling and reading.

Internal Complaints Committee (ICC)

In pursuance of the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act 2013 and the Rules framed there under, the AFS India hereby has adopted procedures for determining complaints filed to the Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) constituted under the Act. The procedure complies with the basic principles of natural justice and fair play and has to be adhered to in all complaints, though, in individual complaints, for reasons to be stated in writing, the ICC reserves the right to make exceptions to the procedure stated hereunder.

Profile of Anuradha Rao

Ms. Anuradha Rao is a very renowned expert in the field of social development. Her expertise is widespread in the vast arenas of development – Women’s human rights and International law, Governance and social justice, Sustainable Development, Consumer rights, Leadership and management skills, Research on legal and policy issues, Developing, monitoring and evaluating programmes, Advocacy skills and training, Legal literacy and public interest litigation, Capacity building support for community-based organisations (CBO) and non-government organisations (NGO) and Grant applications.

She has formerly also been Executive Director, International Women’s Rights Action Watch (IWRAW) Asia Pacific. IWRAW Asia Pacific is an international NGO based in Kuala Lumpur. It works through collaborative projects, primarily with women’s organisations globally, and more specifically in the Asia Pacific region. She is a consultant to endless networks and organisations across the globe.

Her  experience, associations and  achievements cannot be put in few lines. AFS India is glad to have her on board with us as an ICC member of our organisation.
