AFS-India organized the Gateway orientation for the 40 students of the Kennedy-Lugar YES Batch 2019-20 from 3rd August to 5th August 2019 in Delhi. Participants were excited and looked forward to learn new things. Various sessions such as Iceberg Concept; Cultural Shock & Optical illusion; Tips & Suggestions for Adapting in host family & School; Letters from the last batch; budgeting; Risk Management and Protecting from Sexual Abuse, Impressions by the last batch, Taking Sides, Things to remember as an Ambassador and airport briefing/ immigrations were conducted. Many sessions were revised from the Pre-Departure Orientation as well.

The alumni (facilitator) also shared the best practices and some Do’s and Dont’s with the students. Overall the orientation went well. We wish them a great and fruitful exchange year ahead!
