The vibrant energy of Indore played host to the Annual Volunteer Meet (AVM) 2024 from 20 to 23 December 2024, a powerful gathering that united 52 passionate volunteers hailing from 21 AFS India chapters. Under the inspiring theme of “Building Bridges, Changing Lives & Connecting Cultures and Transforming Communities,” the event served as a dynamic platform for learning, sharing, and fostering growth amongst these dedicated changemakers.
A Spark of Unity: The Inauguration
The meet commenced with a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony, a symbolic gesture of enlightenment and unity, graced by Mr. Siddhart, Dr. Gurmeet, Ms Yogeshwari, and Ms. Diya. Mr. Siddhart’s opening address resonated deeply with the event’s core message, setting an optimistic and purposeful tone for the enriching days that followed.
Days Filled with Insight and Inspiration
The four-day agenda was thoughtfully curated, offering a blend of insightful sessions and engaging activities designed to empower and connect the volunteers:
Words of Wisdom: Dr. Gurmeet’s inspiring talk on “Happiness” and Ms. Gitanjali’s thought-provoking session on “Contextualizing Education” left a lasting impact on the participants.
Stories That Inspire: A compelling panel discussion, expertly moderated by Ms. Sarita and featuring Mr. Shalin, Mr. Bankim, Ms. Sudha, and Ms. Deepa, illuminated the profound impact of volunteering and intercultural exchange through real-life success stories.
Nurturing Growth: The “Volunteer Development Journey,” skillfully facilitated by Ms. Diya and Mr. Chunjanglung, provided a valuable space for self-reflection and the identification of strategies to amplify individual contributions.
Strengthening the Foundation: Essential skills and knowledge were imparted during the “Process Training (Hosting and Sending)” session, led by Ms. Ankita and Ms. Sweta, with invaluable support from volunteer facilitators Mr. Shalin, Mr. Deepak, Ms. Rachna, Ms. Sarweshwari, and Ms. Sweta S. This session aimed to fortify AFS’s core programs.
Celebrating Collective Impact: The “Spirit of Volunteerism Presentation” saw each chapter proudly showcase their unique initiatives and achievements, highlighting the collective dedication and passion that fuels the AFS volunteer network.

Special appreciation is due to the incredible Indore Chapter for their outstanding efforts in orchestrating such a seamless and impactful event.
