Diya is a passionate educationist with over two decades of experience in teaching, administration and management. As a founder principal, she has set up two schools focusing on the holistic development of the students.  She aims at equipping the youth with 21st century skills and creating lifelong learners. She has also been working in collaboration with NGOs on global issues and the SDGs.

She has been working with children in rural as well as urban schools, helping them with training, making economical teaching aids, connecting sponsors for the underprivileged. As a voluntary counsellor, she has been guiding children and youth on how to work on absolute happiness.

She is an alumna of La Martiniere School and LSR College, Delhi University. She  is an MBA (H.R) and holds a degree in education.

  • ‘Uttar Pradesh Gaurav Samaan’ for education and social work 2021
  • ‘Outstanding Woman in Education’ 2020 by FICCI-FLO, Uttar Pradesh

Anuradha brings a diverse professional background with 18 years of experience in hospitality, specializing in coordination and operations. Her career journey has also led her to the field of education where she has dedicated the past 5 years to International Baccalaureate (IB) teaching, enriching young minds with a global perspective.
She holds a degree in commerce and is a certified Montessorian, which has equipped her with unique insights into child development and education. Additionally, she has earned a master’s degree in career counseling, allowing her to guide individuals toward fulfilling their career aspirations.
Beyond her professional endeavors, she is deeply passionate about animals and is committed to addressing global issues. This passion drives her continuous efforts to impact both locally and globally positively.

Seema Sharma

Seema Sharma has worked as a Financial Advisor with a background in financial analysis, budgeting, and cost management. Her experience includes roles as Finance Director at Sai Contractors Private Limited and Assistant Manager at Hughes & Hughes Chem Limited. Proficient in financial reporting, taxation, and auditing, Seema holds a B.Com from the University of Delhi, an M.Com from Meerut University, and is a certified cost accountant (FCA).

Bharat Kandpal

Bharat has almost a decade of experience in the finance sector. He has completed his Masters in Economics from Kumaun University, Nainital. He started his career with AFS in 2013 in the Finance Department. He likes learning and exploring new things. He has a good knowledge about SAP Finance Module.

As an Individual, Bharat always tries to learn from others and wants to

deliver his best. He enjoys his time working in the Finance Department as he gets a lot of time interacting with Chapter Volunteers and other stakeholders. He also takes on administration and HR work as and when required. Known to be a humble and calm person, he is always active in providing relevant support to staff members.

He is a family man and loves to spend time with his loved ones. He enjoys

listening to the local music of his hometown in the hills. In his free time, he likes travelling and playing sports  with friends. 

He believes in AFS Mission and enjoys his role for the betterment of the organization.

Bulbul Kashyap

Bulbul is an optimistic and motivated person who believes in spreading love and positivity everywhere. She has been working with AFS India since December 2019. She began her professional  journey with AFS India which will always remain extremely close to her heart. Each day she loves to work with full enthusiasm and a happy mind. She is hardworking person and passionate to experience and learn new things which makes her strong and helps her to motivate to work hard and

She is a postgraduate in History from Delhi University. Additionally, she is a professional trained Nutritionist. She holds a Diploma in Translation. She has also completed certificate programs in Record Management;  Care & Conservation; and NGO Management.

She is an animal lover who is always ready to help stray animals and spread awareness to give them a small place in everyone’s home. She sings exceptionally well, sharing her name in Hindi with a bird that sings sweet – bulbul.  She strongly believes in contributing to society in each and every small way possible.

Ankita

Ankita Pal

Ankita is an experienced educator with 13+ years of experience in teaching, curriculum designing, vocational training, teacher training, counselling and guidance. Her experience as an educator has helped her to acquire a deeper understanding of empathy, human behaviour and how to build long-lasting relationships with not just students but all the involved stakeholders. 

Having worked closely with the adaptation of NEP 2020 at a public school across all academic levels, she deeply understands the necessity of inclusiveness, equity in education and respecting diversity. She enjoys taking on challenging tasks where she can collaborate with many people and multitask.

A true bohemian by nature and a free-spirited old soul, she is arty and uninterested in stereotypes. One might often find her in deep conversations with the animals around her. She spends her free time watching or listening to old English, French and Spanish classics, reading books, penning down her thoughts into short verses.

AFS gives her an opportunity to be a part of a system that thrives to inculcate inclusiveness and tolerance.

Chunjanglung Kamei

Communications and Volunteer Coordinator

Chunjanglung Kamei is also known by the last name Kamei.

Before joining AFS India, he worked as Assistant Manager, Volunteer Program at Habitat for Humanity, India from 2016 – 2020 for their international and domestic programs. Connecting international volunteers from 70+ Countries and bringing leaders, Individuals, companies as volunteers to India to support communities in need.  Between 2014 -2016, he was a Team Member for Absence Management HR at Aon Hewitt.

He is a  Bachelor of Business Administration from Manipur University and a Diploma in Advanced in Computer Application. He is an experienced Human Resources Specialist with a demonstrated history of working in the Human Resource services industry and NGO. From 2010 -2013, he organised ‘Joy of Giving Week’ at Imphal with the students of  Manipur University.

He also loves coffee and exploring cafes and varied cuisines in the cities he lives or travels. Playing football whenever possible is his interest.  He is die hard fans of Manchester United. On weekends, he spends time with friends and family.

Roli Verma

Roli, with 8+ years of working in the education sector, has spearheaded several projects related to accessibility of education to underserved children.

She is  a graduate from Indraprastha College of Women,  Delhi University.. Her passion to work with children and for society in the field of education inspired her to pursue a Bachelors in Education. Moreover, she has completed a 4-month certificate course on School Leadership Program organized by Teach For India and Akanksha Foundation. Currently, she is pursuing masters in Social Work.

She began her profession by  working with an NGO where she worked in the Accelerated Learning Remedial Program  for children. During her tenure, she managed various projects and worked closely with a team of 20 Project Leaders and 150 teachers. She had a chance to lead novel projects such as The Silver Lining Project during the COVID-19 pandemic. She had also worked with government schools under Uttarakhand Department of  Education by conducting capacity building training to teachers, establishing Science labs and teaching learning aids.

In her leisure, she likes to draw and listen to music.

practical application.
Over the course of her 8+ years in the educational sector, she has donned multiple hats, transitioning seamlessly from a dedicated teacher to a meticulous coordinator and subsequently, to an inspirational Vice Principal. Each role has been a testament to her adaptability, leadership prowess, and unwavering dedication to fostering academic excellence. But what truly sets Sweta apart is her genuine love and compassion towards children. This isn’t just a profession for her, but a calling. She believes in the boundless potential each child holds and is committed to creating an environment where they can thrive, both academically and personally.

Sehar

Sehar Abdullah

Alumni Coordinator and Sending Support

Sehar is a graduate of Political Science from the University of Delhi, who later pursued a post-graduate diploma in liberal arts as a Young India Fellow from Ashoka University. Sehar has worked as an associate researcher in a policy think tank and has primarily researched school education in India.

Before joining AFS as a staff member, Sehar was a volunteer with the Delhi Chapter for more than four years and an alumnus of KL-YES (2016-17). The AFS Motto of intercultural sensitivity and peace-building has been at the core of her experiences since she went on an exchange seven years ago. She cherishes her memories of her exchange and considers AFS as the source of her intercultural understanding. 

In her free time, you can see her reading fiction, and dabbling with story-telling and writing. She enjoys coffee even when she is lactose intolerant. 

By being a part of the AFS Staff she hopes to reconnect with the international community that thrive on values of diversity, respect, equality, and individuality. 

Gorav

Gorav Singh

Gorav Singh is a keen learner and versatile professional with a background in engineering. With three years of experience in administration, quality control, and logistics, he has developed strong management skills and proficiency in computer applications.

Coming from an Army family background, he has experienced diverse cultures during his stays in different regions of India, fostering an understanding of the significance of intercultural connectivity. He recognizes the importance of effective communication and exchange between people from various backgrounds.

He has been part of scholarship-based learning programs, supporting underprivileged students’ access to education. During the Covid-19 pandemic, he volunteered as call support for essential commodities, showcasing his commitment to helping others in challenging times.

Aside from his dedication to work and social causes, Gorav enjoys sports, particularly cricket and badminton. He finds joy in watching different sports events and participating in friendly matches. Additionally, he has a fondness for music and explores movies of various genres in his leisure time. He has a soft corner for animals, especially dogs, and likes spending time with friends and family.

Chounchoun is a creative and passionate worker.

She is an English Literature graduate from Janki Devi Memorial College, Delhi University. She also holds a diploma in Linear Editing. Fascinated by the entertainment world and social media, she enjoys shooting videos, photographing, and creating content.

She completed internships at World Vision India as a Video Editor and at AFS India as a Content Editor before her employment as an AFS India staff. As a freelancer, she undertook video editing for creators and managed social media accounts. In her free time, she engages in active volunteering.

She is a dog person, a nature lover and an ardent reader.
