BY Jalpa Shah, Volunteer, Anand Chapter

“This was the first time I participated in the National Level Community Service Program at Gandhinagar. We were involved in teaching the underprivileged students and talking about health awareness to nearby village people. In the past, I have been associated with numerous community service projects at the chapter level but participating at this grand level, along with so many volunteers from across India was a beautiful experience. It was full of fun and learning.

I am looking after hosting activities at the chapter level, so I have seen many students being hosted but when I myself got hosted, it was a new experience. In this community service, I taught art & craft to students which will always be among the most memorable moments of life.

One of the thing which I would like to share from this service is, when I went to 5th grade, the students told me to teach rather than having fun, so teaching them without preparation was new learning for me. Being with students for 4 days was full of happiness.

I got highly inspired by this community service and following it, I have planned to teach English, Maths, Art & Craft, health awareness sessions at  4 schools of Anand. I’ve loved being part of this social service and will continue to serve the needy people always.”
