“We are very happy and lucky to be a part of this community service project. The way this service got executed and, implemented was fabulous. Going to the village schools and teaching those students for 6 days was an out of the box experience for me. Earlier, I thought that this activity was just limited to teaching the kids of class 1-10th for some period of time but slowly, as the days went by, I realized that the project was just not merely limited to an exchange of education, but also the exchange of thoughts, new ideas and intercultural values between all of us. Till the time, the last day came, we made such a superb bond with the students that we wished that we had some more time to spend with them.

The time and experience gained during this activity with the students and other volunteers is beyond explaining in words. In the process of teaching the students, I realized, that education has reached everywhere, in case if we are able to give these students the correct mentorship and guidance, maybe someday we’ll get to see eminent personalities like Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam coming forward from each village like this. I am very happy that I was able to contribute at least 1% to advance the knowledge of the students. I really want to thank Divya Ma’am and Aadil Bhai for giving me this opportunity, Gandhinagar chapter for hosting us so warmly in their homes and all the other volunteers for their great companionship. I would request the AFS India to make us the part of such projects every year”
